We wish our Club families, team members, boards, and donors a happy holiday season.

Leonard and JoAnn recognized the growing need for a safe place for children to go after school while parents were still at work. In 1995, they partnered with the national organization to bring a local Boys & Girls Club to life. They purchased and donated a vacant building, and Leonard, alongside family and friends, spent countless hours renovating it and bringing it up to code. When the doors opened months later, 35 excited young children signed up.
As the Club grew, Leonard and JoAnn remained deeply involved serving on the board, teaching classes, and, in 1998, providing the financial support that made the construction of a new gymnasium possible. Their vision also helped spark expansion into Bremen, Indiana in 2009 to meet rising community needs.
Today, the Boys & Girls Club of Marshall County serves over 650 school-aged members each year and has impacted thousands of children since its inception. Although Leonard and JoAnn are no longer with us, their legacy lives on in every child who finds safety, opportunity, and encouragement within these walls. Both were honored with the Sagamore of the Wabash award, one of Indiana’s highest distinctions, in recognition of their extraordinary community service.
